The Studio aims to provide an accessible and relaxed yet stimulating environment which encourages students to try new experiences and acquire new skills. We believe the arts are an important form of communication and expression and that experimentation leads to new ideas, new achievements and new goals. The work at the Studio develops our students’ abilities and confidence and this has a positive impact on their daily life, ambitions and self esteem.

A wide range of activities are offered including; painting & drawing, textiles, collage, glass painting, papermaking, print making, felt making, mosaic, card making, jewellery making, decorative masks, silk painting, batik and tie dying.

The Studio enjoys visits to local galleries and places of interest in the local community but also has its own annual exhibition, and displays work at Chichester Open Studios and the Pallant House Gallery. Students often sell pieces of work through the Studio or in the Aldingbourne Country Centre’s shop.

The Studio is run by a team of experienced instructors, assisted by supportive and dedicated volunteers and occasional visiting artists that run workshops. This mixture of talent and experience provides a varied and exciting programme of activities for our students.
