We have a strong belief that our trainees have a place in the wider community and it’s here where our experienced community gardening team excels. Commissioned to enhance both private and communal gardens across the region, young people with learning difficulties are led by an expert instructor to transform our local outside spaces.

Our horticulture group also grows a wide range of spring bedding, patio and basket plans, herbaceous perennials, hardy shrubs and climbers, which are on sale in the Country Centre shop and brilliant for your home or workplace.

Wood Recycling
Our award-winning wood@aldingbourne project is innovative because it tackles the huge problem of wood waste in landfill. We collect commercial wood waste, sort it and sell it on to the public while our trainees gain a better understanding of our environment and the commercial sector.

Vintage, Wood Products and Furniture Restoration
We also have a splendid wood products workshop, which is a true celebration of inspiration and the place where we create unique gifts and bespoke items from our recycled and donated wood. Any donations of craft materials are gratefully received!
Our furniture restoration workshop expertly restores or repairs precious pieces from Chippendale period chairs, dressers or desks to church pews. French polishing is one of our specialities, as our customers will testify.

Christian’s car wash
Christian Roberts was the first person to be supported by the Trust to become self-employed. Having studied car maintenance at Chichester College and winning a start-up grant from the Enham Trust, Christian has turned a hobby into a successful business at the Aldingbourne Country Centre.
He provides an excellent car washing service on Thursdays and Fridays, when visitors can bring their cars to be cleaned by hand at a cost of £5 per car. Telephone 01243 542075 to book your car in.
