Shared housing and supported living
Living alone can be daunting for people with learning disabilities who want to make the move into their own homes but prefer to have company and support within a shared housing environment.

Therefore, our Supported Living service offers a number of valuable benefits:

  • We match individual needs to properties and provide ongoing, tailored support to help with managing daily life
  • We provide access to safe, comfortable housing
  • We provide assistance with daily activities, including budgeting, cooking and personal care
  • We encourage our tenants to use local resources whenever possible to ensure they are involved with their community

The Aldingbourne Trust enjoys special relationships with private landlords and manages a portfolio of properties in the Bognor Regis and Chichester areas that form part of our Supported Living service.  These properties provide medium to intensive support, including on-site staff who can provide 1:1 support 24 hours a day.

Gain experience, enjoy social interaction and develop independence

Our properties offer accommodation where people can share kitchens and bathrooms or which have self-contained private facilities with an option to spend time with others in a shared, communal lounge if they choose.

Our shared housing schemes are the perfect solution for people with learning disabilities who want to gain experience, enjoy social interaction with fellow sharers and develop their independence before moving into accommodation, such as self-contained housing. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and copies of our inspection reports are available here.
