Brokerage
We are able to offer a menu of support to individuals, carers, parents and their representatives. Jen Spencer has been developing her skills through Paradigm's "Brokers for Change" programme and has worked with families to action individual solutions.
We are pleased to be part of the National Brokerage Network (www.nationalbrokeragenetwork.org.uk) and are continually updating our skills and knowledge to be able to pass on the latest information to those we support.
The support we are able to offer is as individual as you are. Examples of our activities can include:-
- supporting people to design their support plan
- actioning the support plan
- co-ordinating support arrangements
- finding appropriate accommodation
- offering employment/voluntary/training opportunities
- supporting people to use their local community
- recruiting staff - from talking through job expectations, employment contracts, arrangements for payroll, to actively providing support with developing job descriptions & roles, interviewing, criminal record checks, references & providing staff.
Brokerage supports people and their carers to take control of individualised budgets by:
- Helping people find their way through sources and entitlements ranging from Disability Living Allowance to an individual local authority budget.
- Supporting people to develop the life skills they need to live independently, prepare for work and achieve their ambitions.
- Supporting people get a job, join clubs and societies and take part in society.
- Supporting people to design and develop services where there is no existing provision.
